Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

1.1 You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. In EU countries where Article 8 GDPR requires a higher age (e.g. 16), you must meet that higher age requirement.

1.2 If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you must have your parent or guardian's permission, and they must have read and agreed to these Terms.

1.3 We comply with COPPA (US), Age Appropriate Design Code (UK), GDPR/UK GDPR, and Canadian child protection laws. Accounts of underage users without proper consent will be deleted.

2. Accounts

2.1 You must provide accurate information when creating an account.

2.2 You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens on your account.

2.3 We can suspend or delete accounts that break these rules.

3. Your Content – You Keep Full Ownership

3.1 You own 100% of everything you upload (videos, images, audio, text – "User Content").

3.2 Knotreels claims zero ownership of your content.

3.3 You give us only a limited licence to host, show, and technically process your content so the platform works (e.g. transcoding for different devices). This licence ends automatically when you delete the content or your account (except copies already shown to others or kept only for legal/back-up reasons).

3.4 We will NEVER distribute, sell, license, or use your content outside Knotreels without your explicit separate written consent.

3.5 You promise your content does not break anyone else's rights and you have permission for any people shown in it.

4. What You Cannot Do

You must not upload or do anything that is:

• illegal
• harmful
• hateful
• infringing copyright/trademark/privacy
• spam
• fraudulent
• harassing
• or that breaks these Terms

We can remove content and ban accounts that break these rules.

5. Tips & Payments

5.1 Viewers can send voluntary tips to creators.

5.2 Knotreels takes 20% as the platform fee. Creators receive 80% after the 20% fee, payment processor fees, refunds, chargebacks, and any taxes/VAT.

5.3 Payouts are made according to your chosen schedule, once you pass verification and minimum thresholds.

5.4 We can withhold or claw back money if we suspect fraud or rule-breaking.

6. Termination

6.1 You can delete your account anytime.

6.2 We can suspend or delete your account for serious breaches or when required by law.

7. Warranty Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is". We give no guarantees it will always work perfectly.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Our total liability is capped at the greater of (a) the platform fees we kept from your tips in the last 12 months or (b) £100.

9. User Content – Sole Responsibility of Creator

You are solely and exclusively responsible for all User Content you upload, post, share, or otherwise make available on the Service, and for any consequences or harm arising from it.

Knotreels may monitor and review User Content but is not obligated to do so. We will make reasonable efforts to remove illegal or rule-breaking content when we become aware of it, but we cannot guarantee that everything will be caught.

Knotreels does not endorse, approve, or control User Content.

Knotreels has no liability or responsibility whatsoever for any User Content or for any loss, damage, claim, or legal action arising from or related to any User Content.

All legal responsibility, liability, and risk for User Content rests entirely with the creator who uploaded it.This includes any claims for copyright infringement, defamation, privacy violation, illegality, or any other third-party rights violation.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Knotreels Ltd, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, costs, expenses (including reasonable legal fees), or liabilities arising out of or related to your User Content or your breach of these Terms.

This clause survives termination of your account or these Terms.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

10.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

10.2 UK courts have jurisdiction, but if you are a consumer in the EU, Canada, or elsewhere, you can also sue in your home country and keep your local consumer rights.

11. Copyright & Complaints

Report copyright issues to info@knotreels.com.

EU/UK users can use DSA or Online Safety Act complaint procedures.

12. Privacy & Data (EU/UK/Canada)

We comply with GDPR, UK GDPR, PIPEDA, and the Digital Services Act/Online Safety Act.

EU/UK consumers have a 14-day right to cancel (unless you have already started using the Service with your consent).
